Airbrush Paintings

Airbrush painting is a technique where paint is sprayed onto a surface using a compressed air tool called an airbrush. It allows for precise control over the application of paint, creating smooth gradients, fine lines, and intricate details that can be challenging to achieve with traditional brushes or rollers.

The process involves loading the airbrush with paint, adjusting the air pressure to control the flow and speed of paint particles, and maneuvering the airbrush over the surface to apply layers of color. Artists can achieve various effects by adjusting the distance from the surface, the angle of the airbrush, and the amount of paint released.

With the exception of the paintings captioned, they are painted with gauche on gesso primed textured board. The texture helps add vibrance to the color, with more surface area. The large canvas paintings are painted with acrylic.

It offers versatility in terms of color mixing, shading, and blending, making it a favored technique for creating realistic textures and vibrant, detailed artworks.

Four noted are 48 x 48 inches, acrylic on canvas. The rest are 24 x 24 inches, gauche on textured board.
